Balinese-Style Grilled Prawns with Satay & Chilli Butter
A quick and flavourful dish featuring Street BBQ Balinese, juicy prawns and a rich, spicy butter sauce. Perfect for entertaining or a special meal!
Ingredients:
- 6 XL Australian prawns
- 1 Street BBQ Balinese
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- ¼ cup coconut water
- 1 tbsp sambal oelek
- 1 lime (juice only)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Prawns:
• Using a serrated knife, carefully split the prawns along the belly without cutting all the way through.
• Lay the split prawns flat on a tray. Drizzle with oil and season generously with the Street BBQ Balinese satay seasoning.
2. Make the Chilli Butter Sauce:
• In a small pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add 1 tablespoon of the Street BBQ Balinese satay seasoning and stir.
• Once the butter starts to bubble, pour in the coconut water and add the sambal oelek. Cook the mixture over high heat for 3 minutes, then remove from heat and keep warm.
3. Grill the Prawns:
• Heat your grill or BBQ. Place the prawns shell side down on the grill and cook until fully cooked and slightly charred, about 3–5 minutes depending on size.
4. Assemble the Dish:
• Transfer the grilled prawns to a serving plate. Squeeze the lime juice evenly over the prawn meat.
• Generously drizzle the warm chilli butter sauce over the prawns.
Serving Suggestion:
Serve immediately with steamed rice or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce. Enjoy!
